Toadfish Outfitters was founded in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. Toadfish was founded on the principle of preserving the coast one oyster bed at a time. They are hometown conservationists with the power to change the inshore ecosystem. Over the years of living in a coastal region, they began to see declines in water quality. This impacted all the surrounding ecosystems, and the environment began to suffer. It was from this that toadfish outfitters were born.

It was Toadfish Outfitters' mission to preserve the local waters for future generations. They knew it all began with the oyster beds. Toadfish boasts some of the nicest oyster products, shrimp products, and crab products. It is this ecosystem that keeps this one of a kind business afloat. Giving back and making sure the oysters survive will guarantee that toadfish outfitters will be around for future generations.

Oysters are filter feeders, and one of the ways water remains so clean. They filter out all the particular matter and help clean the water. This is important because, with declining water quality, we saw declines in fish populations and an increase in inshore fish mortality. The time was now to act, and that is what toadfish did. Toadfish Outfitters was started to devote time, money, and energy to improving water quality and helping rebuild the filter-feeding oyster beds.
