Blackened Black Drum
Blackened Black Drum Is The Perfect Drum Recipe For Friends And Family
One of my favorite species of inshore fish to catch is the black drum. Not only are they fun to catch, but they are even better to eat. Like redfish, they have a limit and slot size. This is good because the larger black drums do not taste as good as the juveniles. I think they produce such a great tasting fillet that it is hard to smother it with a bunch of ingredients that will take away from its flavor. This is why my favorite way of cooking black drum is by blackening it.

Instructions For Cooking Blackened Black Drum
In a large bowl add all of your spices together and mix. This will be the blackened seasoning that will cover your black drum fillets. Melt your butter in a separate dish. When the butter is warm, carefully dip the drum fillets into it and cover with the blackened seasoning. It is that simple! You are ready to cook. You can cook it a few different ways like the oven or skillet on the stove top. I chose the grill because I love cooking fish on the grill.
Preheat your grill to about medium heat (250 -300°). Place a piece of aluminum foil on it to prevent the grill flames from burning your fish and to prevent sticking. This also makes for easy cleanup and keeps your grill clean. Cook for 6-8 minutes or until the drum is done. The fish is ready to be plated and served with your favorite side dishes.
